Big Bang minus One

You knew it was bound to happen, Seungri is just so good, with Daesung out of commision for 8 weeks, he’s taking over his spot too in the group. Just think this is what Big Bang is going to look like from now on without the happy-go-lucky mood setter. No offense to the rest of the members, but unless TOP decides to show that joker side of his 24/7, Big Bang without Daesung is like Grey Goose and cranberry without the Goose, and you know that just ain’t right.

big bang minus 1

After a long 2-month absence from Korea and losing a member, Big Bang will be back on stage in front of 400 lucky fans. The group will be performing at Seoul’s HongDae SangSang MaDang’s Live Hall on 8/24. How did they chose those 400 lucky fans? Through a random computerized selection at Cafe Lotte.

Although I would really laugh if some of them weren’t fans at all and just sold the tickets or something.

By the way, if you didn’t know, I was just kidding.

Daesung is just in recovery, so obviously he can’t join the others for this ‘come back stage’. Even though it’s really not; but doesn’t it look lonely without Daesung?

Also, for those of you who think that Seungri is useless and contributes nothing to the group. Think again, he contributes a lot to the group. Why, if he wasn’t in the group, would we be able to make posts like this? I think not.

Thank you Seungri, we love you.

It’s all ABOUT ME!

daesung seungri

What did I say before when it was reported that Daesung got into an accident?

That Seungri will replacing Daesung this month on Family Outing. Okay, well not that, but that Seungri would be stealing the spolight from Daesung. The filming will be in Kangwon-Do in an undisclosed location.

Seungri will fill in for Daesung as a fellow Big Bang member,” said Family Outing‘s Jang Hyuk Jae PD, on a telephone inteview with Money Today Star News. “He will record one episode for now (two episodes’ worth on TV). After that we will see how Daesung is doing and make further decisions later.

Jang PD also said “The cast and crew are all worrying [about Daesung] and we hope he recovers and reunites with the ‘Family’ soon.

Not only is Seungri taking the spotlight in SHOUTING, he’s got Family Outing too.

Seungri, I like you, but man do some people wish it was you instead of Daesung in that accident.

It should have been Seungri, not Daesung“, and now I’m beginning to understand why she said that; as sad as that sounds.

Just to let you guys know, I did not say that, someone else did. I happen to like all the members of Big Bang and don’t wish anything like that on anyone.

You also know you can imagine Seungri thinking that (see above photo), cause I sure can.

The truth about ‘Heartbreaker’ Part III

Just a little more ‘I really don’t care’ about this issue news.

The owner’s of Flo rida’sRight Round” and Oasis’ “She’s electric” have made some statements regarding G-Dragon‘s supposed plagiarism.

They stated, “The 10 composers to ‘Right Round’ have not all expressed their opinion on this issue until. We had sent samples of GDragon’s songs to the parties involved for the 2 songs ‘Right Round’ and ‘She’s Electric.” Also, “There are indeed similarities between ‘Heartbreaker’ and ‘Right Round’ and between ‘Butterfly’ and ‘She’s Electric’. It is hard to say if it is plagiarism at this stage. We will all go with the final decision of the composers to the song.”*

Sony ATV commented that, “Sampling and remaking of a song by using part of the original should be allowed; but sampling without permission is not. The individual should try his/her best to make their own music/work every-time, so as to protect the copyright of others’ works. The piece of work should be the creator’s own expression and not just the idea or title.”*

All that means is that they should just use the original as inspiration. They do have a point though with the following trend. Many artists recycle beats, if they really want to get into it, they should come back to America and sue half of the artists now because at least 75% of the music has recycled beats. I can’t even begin to tell you how many songs I’ve heard on the radio and thought it was one song but in fact it was another.

Also there is this thing about following trend. There may be cases when people or music experts will listen to a song A and think that it plagiarises song B, but that is because listening to it makes one think about the special characteristics of song B.”*

If they’re going to say that G-Dragon plagiarized, then Teddy, GD and who ever worked on Big Bang‘s Haru Haru, Lies and Heaven needs to get on LMFAO butt for literally taking those songs and re-making it into “La La La“. If any of you who listen to that song and don’t hear Big Bang, you need to clean your ears.

About GD‘s naked girl shirt, you go boy. Who cares if he has a shirt of a naked woman? He’s a grown man, of age and probably wants some of his own. He’s crying out for help; if wearing a naked woman on a shirt is as close as he’s gonna get to a naked woman right now, let the guy be please. K Thanks.

Everyone, try to be open minded. Anti’s try to get a life and stop meddling in the lives of people who you wish were friends with or jealous of. Karma sucks you know.

Because this is STC…

Is why I’m going to write this to get this off my chest because it’s really annoying.

I love K-Pop just as much as the next person; but really, Korean (native) fans are neurotic.  Every idol that comes out of that country is under surveillance 24/7, even on T.V.

G-Dragon got some great, but not so great publicity for his album. All the accusations are hurtful, but it got his album to top 9 of 10 positions on the first day. People said he was depressed, but he clarified that in the recent NYLON interview; he’s not depressed, just a deep thinker. People call him a ‘fashionista’, ok well half the time I think he’s a fashion victim of his style. That’s okay though because it’s his own style, that’s why he’s got his own flavor and that’s what draws people’s attention. The latest antics now on him is not his album but what he did on BigBangTV. He supposedly, I’m assuming people thought, threw up the middle finger.

This is what the network had to say:

About the recent criticisms of Big Bang GDragon’s hand gesture featured during Mnet 2NE1TV recently, Mnet staff revealed their stand, “We were flustered and speechless.

On Mnet 2NE1TV aired on 12th August GDragon was seen showing a hand gesture to the camera but the past was mosaic out.

Choi PD to the show said, “We didn’t think that it was a sign of swearing or sorts after looking at the video, but we foresee people playing around with the image using photoshop and posting them up on internet.  So we decided to mosaic it out.

It was known that there is fear that there may be negative influence on GDragon if the image of him showing the hand gesture will be used to make other weird photos and circulated online and that was why it was handled this way when the show was aired. But they didn’t know that it will also cause an issue by doing the mosaic effect on the scene.

2NE1 TV staff said, “It can be seen that this is just a mere gesture of a singer moving to the rhythm of the music.” (ncly@bbvipz)

Can you see where I have the issue? Seriously, if a network had to think that far ahead because of the fans and anti’s, that’s just plain sad. A network nor the artist should have to think about that. If anything it looked like he was trying to pull off the bulls horn that all rockers do. To be honest, I think that’s Jiyong’s way doing the bull horn.

Here’s another example of what netizens need to stop doing: Meanwhile, there was also an issue about the pants which 2NE1 member Gong MinJi wore during 2NE1TV with the bear prints on them. There were many discussions about how the prints are not suitable for a minor like MinJi. (ncly@bbvipz)

minji 2NE1

Okay really, do you need me to go there?

It’s carebears for heaven’s sake. The girl is 15, she’s not allowed to like the carebears? Do you know how many 20-somethings I know that still like Hello Kitty, Rainbow Bright, Cabbage Patch Kids? If anything she’s at the right age. Carebears are for everyone, I’m not seeing how they’re not ‘suitable‘ for her. They even blurred out the little pipi of the carebear, what is that about? I’m sure when she bought those PJ’s she wasn’t thinking of anything other than how cute they are.

I think the fans and whoever is watching these are watching a bit too close. You all need a life, stop messing in their lives. They’re just doing their jobs, doing what they like and wearing what they like.

Can’t you like them and leave them at the same time? They’re not perfect you know, they all got flaws, hell if anything they got a lot of imperfections. This is why it must be hard to be a Korean celebrity, everyone is on your case like MJ is on kids. At least in Hollywood, we take everything with a grain of salt.

Big Bang is on top of things

While G-Dragon dominates Korean music charts, Big Bang releases their album in Japan today (yesterday in Japan) and takes the 2nd and 6th place on Oricon charts.

I still stand by what I said before, it’s an okay album. I don’t feel it’s anything special. If anything GD’s album is better than this album; so if you’re going to spend money, spend it on the better and cheaper album. I mean really three songs are remakes and if you have the singles, you pretty much have 75% of the album.

If you’re in it for collection and goodies purposes then by all means. I can’t help but think that GD’s scandals are also the reason why they did so well in Japan. G-Dragon’s album was the number one pre-ordered album on HMV Japan, so how did Big Bang out do him?

The album cover, title and track list are out, but can GD really drop it like it’s hot?

Lately, G-Dragon has been droppin’ previews from his album on his me2day and on Big Bang TV. But how much of it really is original? YG has gotten blasted in the past for “plagiarism” over other songs and this time it’s no different. With all the publicity of his 33 sec preview of “HEARTBREAKER“, anyone who listens to American pop music knows that it sounds like Flo Rida’s “Right Round“. The only difference honestly is the change in keys. While GD has a higher tone in voice and sound, Flo Rida has a more bass tone.

On August 11, YG Entertainment said, “In no way was Heartbreaker plagiarized. This is a completely original track created by G-Dragon.”*

Then on August 12, YG released another statement, only this time, contradicting themselves. “Up until this point, G-Dragon’s solo album has been touched by many hands. It was co-produced and the title song ‘Heartbreaker’ had been produced hand in hand with Swedish producers.*

If indeed they worked with Swedish producers, it’s possible that Flo Rida worked with those same producers. It’s impossible for GD to not have heard those same beats, especially since he listens to a lot of hip hop and American music.

It’s not just Flo Rida, but it seems that GD’s latest sneak peek of the song “The Leaders (wassup)” sounds like Snoop Dog and Pharrell’s “Drop it like its hot“. It’s not as obvious as Flo Rida’s, but if you know American hip hop, you know that “The Leaders” had to have been influenced by Snoop and Pharrell.

Either way, GD and YG, just own up to it if you did. No one is gonna hate you, everyone recycles beats….and I mean everyone. Really you are getting cool beats from some of my favorite songs. Maybe that’s why when I heard “The Leaders (wassup)”, I heard Snoop and Pharrell too.
